Electronic and synth-driven music is often represented through familiar visual shorthand, with waveforms, equalisers and abstract technology imagery appearing throughout the production music industry. The challenge was to create a visual language that responded to the behaviour of the music rather than its genre. That principle shaped every NOVA release, allowing each album to establish its own identity while remaining part of a coherent body of work.

The album title itself suggested continual movement, but listening to the music revealed something more specific. Its repeating analogue synth sequences steadily build and release momentum without ever reaching a fixed destination. The music suggested a structure in constant circulation, where energy remained contained while continually moving beneath the surface. A circular framework became the natural response, providing a stable geometry capable of carrying continuous movement without losing its overall form.

Movement was introduced through phase modulation, allowing regions of compression and expansion to travel around the ring. As these areas shift, the form appears to circulate around itself, reflecting the measured pulse of the music without disturbing the overall geometry.

The geometry remains constant, but continuous changes in pressure prevent the object from ever becoming static. The finished artwork captures a single moment from that process, holding the energy of the system within a still image.

The animated study reveals the complete system in motion, showing how phase modulation shifts the signal around the circular framework and produces the continuous movement suggested by the music.
